About Us

History

Minot Junior Golf Association was established in 1989 as a non-profit organization designed to foster golf and life skills among the youth in the Minot area. In 2003, fulfilling the dream of board members Rudy Zupetz, Steve Kottsick, and Wes Plummer, the organization established, and currently manages the Jack Hoeven Wee Links Golf Course providing a 9 hole real golf course for kids. This would not have been possible without the support of many businesses and community members lending their support.

Since the inception of the organization, programming and activities have expanded to include lessons, tournaments, events, and a plethora of the community based activities. Our mission is to expand these efforts over the next few years attempting to meet the needs of the kids in our region.

Director of Golf Programming

Parker Bartels serves as the Director of Golf Programming for Minot Junior Golf Association, joining the team in 2024. In his role, he oversees operations at both Jack Hoeven Wee Links and The Bunker, manages seasonal staff, and leads all MJGA programming, including clinics, camps, and outreach initiatives.

With a lifelong passion for golf and a natural ability to connect with kids, Parker is the perfect fit for MJGA. His leadership has allowed the association to expand its offering, proving consistent, year-round training opportunities for junior golfers.

Originally from Oxbow, ND, Parker has been immersed in the game from a young age, with experience both playing and coaching at the high school and collegiate levels. As Parker puts it, “Junior golf has always been a huge passion of mine, and I am excited for the opportunity to grow the game of golf in Minot.”

Parker also provides private lessons for youth golfers! Use the contact information below to get more information on private lessons.

OUR FACILITIES: FAMILY-FRIENDLY & AFFORDABLE

Jack Hoeven Wee Links

Jack Hoeven Wee Links grew out of the desire to provide children with affordable activities to build physical, social and community skills. In order to keep the activity accessible to all juniors and families, course fees are only $1.00 for children 14 & under and $5.00 for everyone 15 and older. Adults may play the course as long as they are accompanied by a child 14 or younger. Youth clubs are also available to rent for $1.00.

The Bunker

The Bunker became a reality in 2024 after years of dreaming by the MJGA Board, driven by the vision of creating year-round golf training opportunities for youth in our community. This indoor golf training facility features three simulator bays and a 1,000 sq. ft. realistic indoor putting green, providing an affordable and accessible space for kids to develop their love for the game—just like Jack Hoeven Wee Links. To keep golf within reach for all juniors, simulator bays are only $5.00 for kids 18 and under (still in highschool), and the putting green is free to use. Adults may join in the simulator bays for an additional $10/hour when accompanied by a junior golfer. Club rentals are also available for just $1.00, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to play and improve their gaem.
